Welcome to My Classroom!

I am an EC Inclusion and Resource teacher. I was a student teacher and a long term sub at KIS during the 2014/2015 school year. I taught 5th and 6th grade EC math and reading classes at KIS for the past two school years. Now, I am so excited to be part of the KCS Magnet School for the Arts!! I look forward to having a great year full of fun and learning!

Feel free to contact me at or by school phone at (704) 932-4161.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:

I attended UNCC where I earned a degree in Special Education. I am certified to teach Special Education at all grade levels. I also have my certification in Elementary Education.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:

Students should be taught and encouraged by understanding and meeting the needs of each child. Students should be taught in ways that promote their individual learning styles so that they can grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. I want to provide students with the tools they need to become responsible, respectful, and motivated members of society. This can be accomplished in an atmosphere that accepts and accommodates differences, encourages thoughts and ideas, and provides many different learning mediums.

What We are Studying:

ELA - We will always be working on improving our reading and writing skills!

Math - We will always be working on improving basic math facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that we can move forward to more advanced math topics.

Things parents/guardians can do to help:

Read with your children, read to your children, read near your children!
