Hello My Name Is...

Megan Deal

Hi there! My name is Megan Deal and this is my second year of teaching. I am very excited to work with your child to reach their goals this year at G.W. Carver Elementary School. I am a native of Kannapolis and went through Kannapolis City Schools myself. I am looking forward to working alongside some of the very teachers that taught me and know that with my knowledge and the guidance of amazing staff members, this will be an amazing year! In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my husband and family, playing with my puppy, and watching sports! Go Wonders!

Educational Philosophy/Vision:

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.

Things Parents/Guardians can do to Help:

Check homework binders and agendas each night for important information. Orange folders are sent home every Tuesday to be signed and returned.

Please read with your child 20 minutes per night - THIS IS IMPORTANT!
