Mrs. Banks

Welcome to My Kindergarten Classroom

Hello! My name is Brittany Banks and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten. I am originally from Upstate New York and moved to North Carolina five years ago. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my sons, Cooper and Lincoln, and my husband, cooking, baking and hiking with my dogs. I am thrilled for the new school year and to get to know you and your children! This year will be filled with fun learning experiences and I am looking forward to getting started!

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:

I am a graduate from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus in math.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:

Before learning can happen, students must feel welcome and part of a classroom family. Building classroom family comes from getting to know each other’s interests outside of school and establishing respect for differences. Learning happens when the students are engaged in what they are learning and they are having fun at the same time. Once students are engaged in lessons, invested in their learning and having fun, the knowledge they will gain will have no bounds.

This is what we're doing this month:

In Social Studies

In Science

In Math

In Writing

In Letterland

Please Read with your child daily and help your child remember to complete their homework every night.
