Mrs. Todd

Mrs. Todd
Welcome to G. W. Carver!  I am Mrs. Todd and I am pleased to have your child in my class this year.  You and your child will learn very quickly that Mrs. Todd LOVES PURPLE! I have decorated my classroom this year with a zebra motif and I am loving decorating with all things Zebra Print.  I am looking forward to a great year.

To tell you a little about myself, I am originally from Wilkesboro, NC and graduated from Wilkes Central High School.  I am married and have two daughters and 2 grandchildren who are definitely the light of my life.  I love to cook and I collect cookbooks.  I also collect snowmen. Snowmen figurines, Christmas Ornaments, Cookie Cutters, Mugs and I love FUZZY SOCKS.  In addition to spending time with your children here at school I also spend time volunteering at my Church, Concord First Assembly in many areas.  My favorite areas to work with are INTUNE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS and volunteering in the summer with S.M.A.C.K (Summer Music and Arts Camp for Kids).  Each year we put on a school aged Musical in two weeks.  The summer of 2017 we performed THE LION KING JR. and it was well received by all who attended.  If you think that your child would be interested in this I will be happy to connect you with the right people.

I have been with KCS for 14 years and taught Second Grade at Fred. L. Wilson.  Prior to that, I was employed with Cabarrus County Schools as a Teacher Assistant, first with the KIDS:Plus program and later in classrooms across all grade levels K-5.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:
I attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and completed my studies at Barber-Scotia College, in Concord, NC.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:
I thoroughly enjoy teaching here and plan to be here until retirement.  If you have ever watched The Wizard of Oz, then you have heard Dorothy say, "there's no place like home," and since I began working here I really feel at HOME.
