What Are We Learning?
3rd Quarter

We will continue using problem-solving strategies multi-step word problems.  We will discuss patterns and relationships between multiplication and division.  We will solve word problems with perimeter, area, picture/bar graphs and time by the minute.

We will identify the theme in fables, folktales, and myths and discuss figurative language in literary texts (i.e. idioms, metaphor, simile).  We will discuss cause/effect relationships and using inferencing strategies with informational texts.

We are conducting research on a topic by gathering facts from different sources (i.e. books, websites, articles) and creating a product to present our information.  We will continue to review capitalization, punctuation, parts of speech (i.e. nouns, verbs, adjectives) and 3rd-grade vocabulary.

Social Studies

We are learning about how the environment changes over time through natural, cultural and human variables/changes.  We will also discuss the absolute and relative location of places using a map in geography.

We are conducting experiments with states of matter (i.e. solid, liquid, gas) and heat transfer/energy.

Don't have a Class Dojo account?  No worries - All you have to do is email me your mobile number or email address and I will send you an invite to get you set up!
